The Challenge
Assist a UK based agency providing public relations and travel trade marketing services to Bermuda Tourism to develop the Irish market.
The Results
Reporting directly to the UK agency, Project PR initially assisted with organising a gala dinner to launch Bermuda Tourism to the Irish travel trade. Based on the success of the event Project PR was subsequently invited to work on an on-going basis as the UK agent's representative in Ireland, acting as a local contact for the Irish travel trade and for the media.
Awareness of the destination was raised by participating in consumer travel shows and by arranging trade fam trips, hosted by Project PR. Research was undertaken by Project PR to identify the most appropriate trade targets and over the course of a year several new Irish tour operators became Bermuda specialists.
The public were informed about the island by way of regular news releases highlighting events in Bermuda as well as special offers from the Irish operators. Competitions in the national media were also run and several press trips to Bermuda resulted in a number of high profile destination feature articles.
